WINTHER, Elsie Elsie (nee Peterson)
Elsie Winther passed away at St. Mary's Health Care Centre on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at the age of 96. Born in Calgary September 19, 1907, she lived in the Pine Lake area until 1927 when she married Martin Winther. They farmed west of Huxley until 1965 when they moved to Trochu. Martin died in 1967 and she continued living in Trochu until her passing. Elsie is survived by two daughters, Mildred and Norman Hoppins, Eva Jensen and Harry Reed; two sons, Bob and Phyllis Winther, Allan and Darlene Winther; 23 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister Lillian McMorris. Predeceased by her husband Martin, one son-in-law, one grandson-in-law, one nephew and one great-grandson. Services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2004 at 2:00 PM from the Trochu Community Hall. Interment will follow at the Huxley Cemetery.
