He leaves behind his best friend and wife of almost 48 years Sandra (Bunce) Gill, his son Tyson (Raina Moffat) Gill, his daughter Kyla (Dave Coupland) Salmond, his sisters Alma (Adolf) Schneider, Hilma (Jake) Schlenker, 2 sister in laws, Erna Gill and Caroline Gill and 2 brother in laws Neil (Beth) Bunce and Roger (Chrystal) Bunce. Grandchildren: Justin Csernyanszki, Seanna Csernyaszki, Aaron Day, Corrven Gill, Aylena Gill, Ariel Moffat, Ryan Coupland, Kari Coupland, Ashly Coupland, Brayly Coupland, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Emil was born in Brackenheim, Germany and his family immigrated to Leader, SK. He was raised and went to school in Redcliff and Medicine Hat, AB. Emil went to Olds College in the Agricultural field where he met his "lovely wife Sandy". He was an avid golfer, a 16-year member at the Meadowlands Golf Club and thought of himself as a master fisherman. Emil loved to make people laugh and smile with his warped sense of humour.
To celebrate his life there is a come and go tea being held at the Meadowlands Golf Course, 3101 50th Street, Sylvan Lake, AB on Friday, August 30th from 2 pm-6 pm.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Deer Hospice in Emil's name. There are no words to describe our gratitude for all their caring and guidance in our time of need.
