THORNE, Eric William “Bill†Early in the morning of September 1, 2005 Bill Thorne of Wetaskiwin quietly and peacefully left this world behind and went to be with the Lord. Bill was raised in the Cloverlawn District, remained a bachelor and farmed the home place until his move to Wetaskiwin. He was known as a friendly and caring man with a kind and gentle spirit, who appreciated the good in his world. Many thanks to the Nursing Unit 31 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, the Hemodialysis Department and especially Dr. Jim, who cared for Bill the last year of his life. Thanks also to the doctors and staff at the Wetaskiwin Hospital for the care they provided Bill during his many stays. Bill is survived by his sisters, Bertha Wunsch of Stony Plain, Grace (George) Harris of Edmonton and Marlene Groves of Red Deer as well as numerous nephews, nieces and valued friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Godfrey and Alice Thorne; sisters, Irene Nelson and Alice Peterson and by his brother, Roy Thorne. Funeral service will be held at Baker Funeral Chapel, 5302-50 Avenue, Wetaskiwin on Monday, September 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Abe Dubland officiating. Interment will follow at the Cloverlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the charity of the donor’s choice.
