WALTER, Ernest Henry
June 14, 1931- Dec. 7, 2016
Ernie was born in Vermillion and spent his childhood on a farm near Auburndale. When he was 15 he moved with his mother and two sisters, to the Sylvan Lake area. In 1956 he married Janet Wiley and together they farmed in the Sylvan Lake area for 56 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Janet, daughter Lisa Walter, grandson Marc, daughter Ellen and husband Henry VanDoesburg, granddaughters: Sara Coates (Brandyn) and Kristi VanDoesburg (Cody), and step sister Ann.
Ernie was predeceased by his father Henry, mother Lisa, sisters: Dorothy Oro and Margaret Smith, step brothers: Norman and Rollie Ammeter.
A memorial service will be held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5020 48 St, Sylvan Lake on Tuesday December 13, 2016 at 2:00pm. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Ernie's name may do so to the charity of the donor's choice.
Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
