Erwin COMIS

February 14, 2009

COMIS Erwin Otto (born May 21, 1929) passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2009. He was predeceased by his wife Donna June Comis (2006), his sister Darlene and brothers Eugene, Arllen and John. Erwin is survived by his two sons and their wives, Major Randall Comis (Janet) and Gregory Comis (Leslie), his brother Donald Comis (Marge) and sister Joyce Comis, one granddaughter Tabitha, one great granddaughter Amber Comis and many nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of the Red Deer area, Erwin had an active life, earlier as a Scout leader with his sons and later enjoying motorbiking and snomobiling with them for many years. Erwin always felt that snowmobiling in the mountains was the "closest thing to heaven". He continued to snowmobile until last year. Erwin was an active member of Kinsmen and K-40, meeting many friends and acquaintances through his work in the automotive field and at Northwest Motors. Erwin was well known and was always well thought of by those he knew. It was Erwin's request to donate his body to the University of Alberta for medical education. In loving memory, family members extend an invitation to celebrate his life at the Crossroads Church, Red Deer (immediately west of Hwy. 2 at the 32 St. overpass) Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 2 pm. Reception to follow in the church cafeteria. Memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation #101 5208-53 Ave. Red Deer T4N 5K2
