August 29, 1937 - December 25, 2018
Ethel was born in Drumheller, the second child and first daughter of Marvin and Doris Andersen.
She lived on a farm in the Dalum area until 1951 and attended the Blue Spring School. The family moved to Cheddarville -Dovercourt area where Ethel left in 1956 to join the RCAF.
There she met her husband Don MacKenzie and married in 1958. They lived in Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Alberta before settling in Red Deer area. They bought their first land west of Bowden and lived there for 30 wonderful years before Ethel's passing.
She was predeceased by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and a son-in-law Bob Hiron.
She is survived by her husband Don MacKenzie, her children Sharleen Hiron, Doug (Leanne) MacKenzie, and Heather (Dan Boyd), 10 grandchildren Nicole, Lisa, Justin Hiron, Alicia Schmautz, & Travis MacKenzie & Adam, Krystene, Marshall, Steven & Zachery Boyd & 12 great-grand children and 13 siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Innisfail Legion on January 11, 2019 at 1:30pm.
