May 25, 1927 - December 8, 2020
The King & Edwards Families are saddened to announce that Eunice Edwards (King) was called home to be in the presence of her Lord and Saviour on December 8, 2020.
Eunice was born on May 25th, 1927. Her parents August and Ethel Johnson immigrated to Canada in 1909 from Sweden. Eunice grew up on a family farm & as a child attended a one room schoolhouse a few miles from the farm. During the Second World War, Eunice moved to Edmonton to live with her sister and worked for the provincial government.
Eunice is survived by her baby sister Ruby.
On September 3, 1948 Eunice married her first love Jim King. They were blessed to have 47 years together. They had 4 sons: Gordon (Eunice), James, David (Sue), and Don (Sandra). They had 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
During the war Jim was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Eunice diligently and faithfully did what ever she could to serve her husband while the effects of MS slowly stole her first husband from her. She showed her character by faithfully serving Jim while the effects of MS took its toll on his health. Jim passed away in 1993 due to cumulative health impacts of MS.
Eunice always took her faith as a Christian seriously. She was very involved in Sunday School Ministries at her church. She faithfully served as a Christian where ever she was needed, and was dedicated to speaking Gods truth. Eunice always practiced hospitality and welcomed many families to her dinner table to serve home cooked meals & fellowship with her guests.
In 1995 God blessed Eunice with meeting another amazing companion at Meadowlodge Seniors Camp. Lewis Edwards and Eunice King were married in 1996. She was blessed with another family. Marj (Ed Weelson), Marilyn (Greg Kingcott), Ken (Deb Edwards), 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Eunice was welcomed into the Edwards family instantly & into the Balmoral Bible Chapel Church family. Due to Lewis's failing health in 2016 he was moved into a care facility and Eunice moved to Victoria Park. God Blessed Eunice and Lewis with 22 years of marriage before Lewis passed away in December 2018.
In early November Eunice fell and fractured her hip. Unfortunately the combined impact of the fracture and the surgery were catastrophic for her health and she weakened quickly.
Eunice was transferred to the Red Deer Hospice where she was kept comfortable and given a dignified and comfortable passage form this life into eternity.
"Now my feelings of immense gratitude should show daily in everything I do. I am fee by the atoning sacrifice Jesus paid for me. I've been set free to live the life He planned for me" -Eunice Edwards.
A graveside service led by Pastor Terry Wiebe will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 for the immediate family at Evergreen Cemetery.
