Evelyn Helen "Lynn"

1925 - 2012

Lynn was born on August 22, 1925 in London, England. Shortly after, the family moved to the village of Rainham on the north bank of the Thames River, east of London. She lived through the Blitz, and after graduating from Palmers School for Girls she worked for an auditing firm and then a stockbroker. In 1957 she emigrated to Toronto, but returned to England in 1958. In 1959 she came back to Canada on the "Empress of Britain" where she met Dennis, who was to become her husband. Later that year she came to Victoria and in May of 1960 they were married. She attended UVIC and graduated with a B.A. in French (First Class). She was very active in St. Luke's Church for many years. In 2011 Lynn moved to Red Deer, where she passed away on April 24, 2012. Besides Dennis, she leaves a son, Chris (Judi), grandson Rob and great-grandson Sylis of Red Deer, as well as her brother Laurie in England. Lynn's family wishes to extend many thanks to Renee and the staff of Harmony House and Unit 31 staff at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. A memorial service in honor of Lynn will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent or viewed at
