Ewen WRIGHT

WRIGHT, Ewen Mr. Ewen Wright, beloved husband of Mrs. Anne Wright of Red Deer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at the age of 76 years. Ewen was born on March 15, 1928 at Vonda, Saskatchewan and grew up in Big River, Saskatchewan. He married Anne Lang in 1953. The couple lived in numerous homes in Saskatchewan, while Ewen worked in construction. The family then moved to Humboldt, Saskatchewan and settled there to raise their ten children. Ewen went into partnership with Monarch Construction until 1973, when he finally moved Red Deer. Ewen worked with Cairns Homes doing fabulous finishing carpentry until he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many, many years. He also enjoyed watching curling with his wife, Anne. Most of all, Ewen enjoyed spending time with his children and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren growing up. They always brought a smile of joy to his face even to his very last days. Ewen, Dad and Grandpa, you will be greatly missed but you will live in our hearts forever. Ewen leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife of fifty-one years, Anne and his ten loving children, Allan (Lynda) Wright of Peace River, Donna (Lorenzo) Donadeo of Calgary, Kerry (Laurie) Wright of Red Deer, Adele (Dennis) Warford of Alix, Grant Wright of Red Deer, Lorna (Ray) Keith of Red Deer, Keith (friend Judy) Wright of Calgary, Brian (Angie) Wright of Creston, British Columbia, Carol (Brian) Holland of Red Deer and Karen (Jim) Brault of Red Deer, twenty-one grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Nelson (Rita) Wright of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, his sister, Catherine Gunderson of Kinistino, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ewen was predeceased by his father, Francis, his mother, Mary Jane (nee Wigton), a brother, Frank and his mother-in-law, Johanna Lang. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
