STENVIG

Fay June Stenvig passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the age of 73. Fay was born on June 5th, 1941 in Medicine Hat, Alberta and grew up in the Eckville area on the family farm. She met the love of her life, Edward and started a family in Red Deer. She was a very passionate and loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife. She supported her sons in all their activities and endeavours. Fay never lost her love of the farm, and was an avid gardener. Even though she lived in Town, she always kept her yard flourishing with flowers and vegetables. She was dedicated to her Celiac Support Group in Red Deer and volunteered at the Red Deer Hospital flower shop on a regular basis. Fay's kindness and loving heart touched everyone who knew her. She was very thoughtful and always put the needs of others above her own. Fay was an amazing cook and her whole family loved to gather together in her kitchen for various celebrations and occasions. Every birthday was remembered -- and even if she couldn't be with you on your birthday, she made sure that the next time you were over, there was a cake for you. She knew everyone's favorite meal, and would make all family members feel special when she prepared it. If you happened to stop by without invitation, you would get offered a cup of tea or coffee and Fay always had fresh cookies or muffins on the table. She had a gift of making people feel comfortable. Fay will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Edward; sons Sheldon, Wendell and Kim; daughters-in-law Tanya, Andrea and Carla, along with eight grandchildren, sisters-in-law and their families, friends and co-workers. Fay was pre- deceased by her parents Beatrice and Elvin Russell and her brother Keith. Anyone who knew her will already be missing her. No funeral will be held as per Fay's request. In memory of Fay, Memorial tributes may be made to the Calgary Celiac Association, c/o Research, 231-37 Ave. NE. Calgary, AB T2E 8J2.
