MILLIGAN Florence Gladys Nov. 20 1915 - Sept. 19 2009. Florence passed away peacefully on September 19 2009 at the Joseph Creek Care village in Cranbrook BC at the age of 93. Florence was a highly energetic woman known for her independence and her strong will. Florence was raised in Erskine AB and later moved to Toronto to work in a war support factory, and to California where she stayed with relatives. Florence married Ronald in 1943 and moved to High River to start her family, she later moved to Calgary in 1962 with her son Terry. When Ronald passed in 1971 Florence bought her own house where she lived for 30 years. Florence worked very hard her whole life to provide for her family. She took a position as manager at sears where she worked for 25 years. Florence lived in Calgary in the home she loved until she was 86, in 2002 she moved to British Columbia to be close to her son Terry who was by her side until she passed. Florence lived a very full life and never let anything stand in her way. Florence was predeceased by her husband Ronald Mulligan. Her Mother and Father Katie Catherine Heymeyer and William Henry Heymeyer. Her sisters Pearl Daisy Barclay, Dora Magdolena Day. Florence will be kindly remembered and sadly missed by those who have survived her including, her sisters Mabel Laura Spady and Lucille Marjory Holsworth. Her sons Gary W. Milligan, Terry R. Milligan. Florence's grandchildren Poppy, Naomi (Terry, Darcy) and Kathy, Philip (Gary, Carol), and great grandchildren Jamie, Fiana, Wendy, and Emily. And one great great grandchild, Hunter. Graveside services to be held at the Erskine Cemetery at 11:00 am on Thursday September 24th. Lunch to follow at the Ramada Inn in Stettler AB. Anyone who knew Florence is welcome to join her family in remembering her.
