FOKKENS Mr. Bill Fokkens beloved husband of Mrs. Sylvia Fokkens of Spruce View, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Bill was born on April 6, 1935 at Pieterburen, The Netherlands. Though Bill took great pride in trucking, his true love was his wife of 52 years, Sylvia and their children, Dennis (Bonita) Fokkens of Airdrie, Alberta, Derk (Marlene) Fokkens of Spruce View, Alberta, Irene (Norman) Korth of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Margaret (Chris) Parsons of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Gerty (Colin) Kure of Moose Mountain, Alberta. He also leaves to cherish in his memory his fourteen grandchildren, Kathleen, Christina and Kevin Fokkens, Brittany (Paul) Fokkens, Darren (Kathleen), David, Joanie and Leona Korth, Gordon, Cody and Kirt MacSorley, Jonathon (Kayla), Nathan, Jessica Mirhashem, and one great grandson, Noah Mirhashem. He is also survived by his brother, Mans (Gretha) Fokkens of The Netherlands. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Derk and Geertje Fokkens. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, Dickson, Alberta on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Family Interment will be held at Dickson Cemetery.
