April 22, 1932 - December 25, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Doreen Kelly of Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Frances was born on April 22, 1932. She spent most of her life in the Great Bend District.
Frances worked for the Central Alberta Dairy Pool. She married Kaye Kelly in 1952. In 1967, they moved onto their farm, where they raised their family. Frances and Kaye farmed for over thirty years, where Frances enjoyed and became proficient at driving the combine, grain truck and tractor. The couple enjoyed travelling in their motorhome throughout the United States of America, including Alaska and eventually began wintering in Arizona. After selling the farm, Frances and Kaye retired to their new home in Red Deer, Alberta. The draw of owning a boat and fishing found them spending their summers at a resort on Kootenay Lake, British Columbia. Frances was an avid fisherman and when she could not be out in the boat, she loved spending time fishing from the dock.
Frances will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Brian (Charlene) Kelly, Brenda (Phil) Besler, Beverly (Brian) MacKinnon, Barbara (Ron) Waddell, and Becky (Miles) Lewis, her eleven grandchildren, and her thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Sawyer, her sisters-in-law, Dalora Wilton, and Marion (Gordon) Watson, her brother-in-law, Eldon Kelly, and many nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years, Kaye Kelly, her great-grandson, Rhys Waddell, her parents, Everett and Nellie Wilton, her brother, Larry Wilton and her brother-in-law, Richard Kelly.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040
