Frances Mary "Fran" Edwards (nee Parker)

September 2, 1954 - December 15, 2019
Fran Passed away at the Red Deer Hospice. Fran was loved by many for her optimistic approach to life, her friendship and service to the community.
Fran was pre-deceased by her husband Grant (2009) and her father Jack (2008). She is survived by her children; Laura, Matthew, Benjamin (Alicia) and Carmin, by her mother Margaret, and by her sisters and brother; Diana, Henry, Helen, Cathy, Florence and Lynda.
Fran enjoyed several diverse interests. She was an avid swimmer at various times of her life; a sewer and quilter; there was always a baby blanket or quilt to be made - still cherished by the families that received them; took much pleasure in her collection of elephants; liked completing challenging jigsaw puzzles; gave many years of service as a Girl Guide Leader at various levels of organization, and maintained this throughout her illness; loved the company of young children who would be brought for a visit, a contributing member of the First Baptist Church, a main source of support for her mother.
Frances' life is celebrated by her numerous friends and family for her stoic acceptance of circumstance, her unselfish nature, her ever ready smile and sense of good humor.
A service of celebration will be held at the First Baptist Church, 4310 - 39 Street, Red Deer, AB, at 2 pm, Saturday, December 21, 2019.
