PAULY

Frances (nee Wideman)

1923-2014

Frances was born December 24, 1923 on the family homestead near Fleet, Alberta. She was the youngest of three daughters in the Wilmot and Sarah Wideman household. She attended rural schools and high school in Fleet, before graduating from both Mountain View Bible College and Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing. As a young nurse in Castor, Alberta, she met and fell in love with one of her patients, William Pauly. Frances and Bill married on October 27, 1953, and enjoyed 59 years of marriage until Bill's passing in 2012. Together, they modeled a faithful commitment to God, each other, their family, and their church. Frances' life was one of cheerful service and giving to others. As a very young woman she helped care for her invalid mother until her passing, and later did the same for her sister Ruby, her father, and most recently Bill. Frances' deep love for her Lord was daily reflected in her care of others. Her family and friends fondly remember Sunday dinners, countless hours of gardening and canning, the warm smell of baked treats and the many lovingly prepared care packages. Her hands were seldom still, and in later years bore the evidence of a lifetime of diligent labor. Frances entered her eternal rest and reward on July 14, 2014. Well done, good and faithful servant. Frances Pauly is survived by her children Rob (Lori) Pauly of Red Deer, Jan (Harley) Annett of Scapa, James (Bernie) Pauly of Victoria, B.C, Gary (Kathy) Pauly of Olds, and Donald (Kelly) Pauly of Lethbridge, fifteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Frances will be deeply missed, but her legacy remains. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Frances Pauly will be held at the CrossRoads Church, 38105 R.R. 275, Red Deer County, on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. If friends desire, memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
