REITER Francis Harvey 1912-2008 It is with sadness that the family of Francis Reiter announces his passing on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Lacombe Hospital at the age of 95. Francis is survived by daughters Sharon and Barbara, his sons Raymond (Audrey), Robert (Myra) and Donald (Dorothy); sisters Neoma and Mildred; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by his first wife Elsie in 1949 and his second wife Alice in 2006. Francis was born on September 29, 1912 at Republican City Nebraska USA. He came to Canada with his parents when he was two years old and the family settled on a farmstead east of Lacombe. He remained on the farm and continued farming until his retirement when he moved to Lacombe. Francis enjoyed curling, playing ball, fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends his entire life. His participation will be greatly missed. A graveside service for the family will be held at the Fairview Cemetery and a memorial tea for family and friends to share the memories, will be held at the St Andrews United Church at 5226-51 Ave. Lacombe, on Thursday June 05, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lacombe Palliative Care or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta #101, 5208 53Ave, Red Deer, AB T4N 5K2 or a charity of your choice.
