IRONSIDE
Freda Ironside (nee Gurr) passed away peacefully in Edmonton on October 13, 2014. Freda was born in Lethbridge on June 7, 1921. She met and married her husband, Bob in 1941 and they lived in Calgary before relocating to Red Deer. Besides loving her Calgary Flames, she was an avid bowler and baker. She loved camping and excelled in knitting and crocheting. Freda was predeceased by her husband, Bob; son, Gordon; parents, Alfred and Chrissie; brothers, Harry (Joan, 2nd wife Vicky); Bill (Marguerite); Alfred (Elsie); brother-in-law, Vern Hobson.
Freda is survived by her sisters, Chrissie Hobson; Vera (Gordon) Ball; as well as all of her nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Queen's Park Cemetery, 3219-4th St. NW, Calgary, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. A special thank you to the staff at the Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre for the compassion shown to Freda during her time with you.
