HILMAN, GALE Gale Albert Hilman, 55, of Sylvan Lake, Alberta died November 27, 2005 at Red Deer Regional Hospital after a protracted struggle with ALS (also known as "Lou Gehrig's disease"). Gale was born in Red Deer, Alberta and settled in Sylvan Lake. Though employed in various occupations, he found his main life's work engaged as a contractor within the Sylvan/Red Deer area. Active in the entire Christian community in his hometown and surrounds, Gale enjoyed the worship of his Lord, the study of His Word, and the consistent witness of Jesus Christ to young and old, high and low, and exuded a singular and spontaneous love of all people. Gale was the son of the late Harry and Caroline Hilman. He is survived by his loving wife, Naomi Bergstedt Hilman; daughter Laura (Nathan) Juntunen; daughter Marya (Devin) Hartzler; son Benjamin; and daughter Sonja (Trevor) Johanson; seven brothers, Darwin (June) of Bentley, Robert (Jeryl) of Red Deer, Conrad (Martha) of South Dakota, Wayne (Lorie) of South Carolina, Kenny of Vancouver, BC, Tom (Rhoda) of Washington, Daniel (Karen) of Chilliwack; eight sisters, Marlene Rose of Sylvan Lake, Luella Violette of Washington, Roseanne (Brian) Lubin of Abbotsford, Gwen (Phil) Wilson of Washington, Bonita Charpentier of Chilliwack, Julia (Brian) Halone of Oregon, Marika Riley of Sorrento, Dawna (Ted) Allsen of Sorrento; step-mother Marge Hilman of Washington; three grandsons, Titus and Ari Juntunen, and Anson Hartzler; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, along with a host of brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus. Gale was predeceased by three brothers, August, Greg, and Reuben and one sister, Rhonda Newman. Those wishing may pay their respects on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home, Sylvan Lake, Alberta from 7:00- 9:00 P.M. A Memorial Service for the late Mr. Gale Hilman will be held at The Living Stone Church, 2020-40 Avenue Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, December 2, 2005 at 2:00 P.M.
