PODRIDSKE Garce "Gus" Garce "Gus" Podridske of Sylvan Lake passed away at home on September 13, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Gus was born on July 2, 1929 in Millet, Alberta. Gus is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Jean and Gus's sisters, brother, nieces & nephews, and Jean's family. Predeceased by his father and mother and one sister. Gus worked for the railroad for 34 years. He started farming as a hobby in 1964 southwest of Sylvan Lake, while still employed on the railroad. When he retired in 1985, Gus started farming fulltime. His favourite past time was attending farm auctions and bringing home as many boxes as he could for a buck or two. Gus loved to tinker and he took great pride in his yard even until his last day. A Funeral Service for the late Gus Podridske will be held at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at the Sylvan Lake Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Gus's name may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
