Gary Lakeman

1939-2021 ~ Mr. Gary Marvin Lakeman passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home as he hoped, on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the age of 82 years.
Gary will be lovingly remembered by his children, Brenda (Randy) Brayford and Garth Lakeman (Lori St. Martin) and her daughter, Kara; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jolene and her husband, Nick Jones (Shaelee, Shelby, Abigail and Jack), Loretta Lee Tensen (Blair and Emily), Jeanna and her husband, Martin Brayford (Lincoln, Leelan and Jozee) and Cody and his wife, Kapri Brayford (Kailey, Keltee and Kassie).
He will also be sadly missed by his sweetheart, Jean MacDonald and her family; his sisters, Ardis Baudin and Doris (Chester) Black; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margaret Currie, Dorothy (Albert) Wagner, Verna (Ed) Schmidt, Gwen (Lawrence) Wagner, Dennis (Jeanne) Hiron, Ken (Joyce) Hiron, Barry (Cindy) Hiron, and Wendy Hansen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Gary was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Karon in 2008; his parents, John and Erma; a brother, Arnold (Marg) Lakeman; his brothers-in-law, Louis Baudin, Jim Hiron, Bill Hiron; a sister-in-law, Irene Walker and numerous other in-laws, nieces, nephews and very close friends.
A Public Visitation will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 - 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 7 pm to 9 pm.
A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. For those unable to attend Gary's Funeral Service, it will be live streamed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11 am. Please click on the Live Stream button. Interment will follow at the Stone Fairview Cemetery, Alix, Alberta.
