RAKE Gary Allen Gary Allen Rake of Red Deer passed away peacefully in Calgary with his loving family by his side on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the age of 67 years. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rita; mother, Mary of Edmonton; two daughters: Cindy (Bill) Bauer and Carrie (Colin) Lawson both of Calgary; two grandchildren, Damon and Michael Lawson. Gary's memory will also be cherished by his brothers: Danny (Darlene) Rake, Eddie Rake and Robbie Hamilton all of Edmonton; his sisters: Pat (Rick) Puff and Bev Ripple both of Edmonton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles. Gary will be deeply missed by his many close friends and numerous acquaintances. Gary was predeceased by his daughter, Laurie and his sister, Gloria Niehaus. Gary was born in Stettler on October 2, 1941 and worked with the Canadian Pacific Railway. He loved golfing and sports and thoroughly enjoyed re-upholstering and refinishing furniture and vehicles. A Celebration of Life Service for the late Gary Allan Rake will be held on Friday, February 13th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer, AB. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Gary's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #101, 5208 - 53rd Avenue Red Deer, AB T4N 5K2. In living memory of Gary Allan Rake, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park in the Red Deer County, AB.
