1922 - 2014

George Albert Cole of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the age of 92 years. After leaving school and farming for a short time, George worked for over 30 years with the Central Alberta Dairy Pool, which later became known as Alpha Dairies. He was one of the founding members of the Parkland School in Red Deer and throughout the years, was very involved with special Olympic programs in Central Alberta. George will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Ruth; a special daughter Darlene, daughter Sharon (Jim) Hollman; three grandchildren Terry (Lisa) Hollman and their children Eryn and Mason, Kent (Marcia) Hollman and their children Kaitlyn and Hunter and Scott (Tara) and their children Jenna, Nolan and Sydney and one sister Ruth Nicholson. Also to cherish George's memory are numerous nieces, nephews and family members. He was predeceased by his brother Don Cole and sister Irene Woyen. A Funeral Service will be held at the Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 - Ross Street, Red Deer AB on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre (Red Deer), 3942 - 50A Avenue (P.O. Bag 5030), Red Deer AB T4N 4E7 or to the Gaetz Memorial United Church (Memorial Fund), 4758 - Ross Street, Red Deer AB T4N 1X2.
