March 3, 1935 - December 16, 2018
It is with much sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother & uncle on December 16, 2018. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

George was born in Winnipeg, MB.

He is survived by his wife Natalie of 56 years, children Brett (Dawn), Bart and Shauna (Brian); grandchildren Josh (Bria) and Shelby; brother, Douglas (Albina) of Arnes, MB and mother-in-law Olga Byckal and extended family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gertie and Don, and father-in-law Dick Byckal. George tried many things in his lifetime: working for Manitoba Hydro, Manitoba Telephones, AB Government Telephones, Belcourt Construction, owning his own gravel truck business, Action Bus, and transporting vehicles from the U.S. for Uncle Ben's. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, archery, firearms, golf and playing darts at The Legion in his younger years and later wood carving, gold panning on the Wildhorse River in BC, and last of all flying his model airplanes at the CARFF radio controlled airfield where he made many new friends. The highlight of 2017 was a gift from his children, a 1 hour flight in a 1944 B25 Bomber over Red Deer and area. The family would like to thank the staff on unit 32 at RDRH for their compassionate care of George.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. Friends are invited to drop in and reminisce on January 5 between 2 - 5 p.m. at 3822 58 Ave in Westpark.

Condolences may be sent to natalie475 @shaw.ca.
