George Edward

George passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the age of 75 years. George was born and raised in Red Deer and lived in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake for most of his life. He played high-level hockey for many teams, loved to boat, collected and admired cars, and enjoyed many winters in Arizona. George taught at Mynarski Park at Penhold and at C.P. Blakely School in Sylvan Lake for a total of 35 years. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Mary Anne; his sister Margie Coleman; daughters Monica Begg and Carmen Klose (Glen); stepchildren Sheila Graham (Jesse), Elizabeth Fraser (Wil), Ian Soder (Gillian); and ten grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Terry Coleman and his parents Harry and Annie Goodacre. A "casual dress" farewell will be held in George's honour at the Valley Centre Hall (10 miles east of Red Deer Hwy 595, north on Rge. Rd 260) on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
