JOHNSON George It is with immense sadness that the loving family of George Johnson announce his sudden passing at home, Thursday, September 3, 2009 in a place he loved, his yard, at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mabel as well as his loving daughter, Caroline, and son, Bryan (Kim) all of Red Deer, AB. George's memory will be forever cherished by his two grandsons: Kyle and Brennen both of Red Deer, AB. George was pre-deceased by his parents, two sisters, and his two brothers. George was involved with the construction of the first Loblaw's store as well as the original Hudson's Bay building. He has resided in Red Deer since 1962, and was an avid gardener and fisherman. He never missed one year of the Ponoka Rodeo or the Calgary Stampede. Dad was one of the original employee's of the Intercontinental Meat Packers, which later became Olymel. He retired from there in 1986. A Celebration of Life Service for the late George Johnson will be held Sunday, September 13, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A St., Red Deer, AB, with the Reverend Fran Hare officiating In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in George's memory may be forwarded to David Thompson Regional Hospital Foundation, P.O.
