MAGAS, George (Stumpy)

1934-2018

George passed away peacefully on February 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He will be forever loved and missed by Anne his wife of 60 years, sons Darcy (Brenda), Cory (Brenda-Brenda) daughter Gaylene (Steve), 3 sisters, 3 brothers, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many very dear friends and "Walter".

His love of family and friends was cherished. George had a spectacular sense of humor. Just a few of his favourite quotes:

"Oooh if the queen could eat this, I'd be her personal chef!"

"I tell you what boy, that's pretty slick"

"You're all a bunch of parasites "

"Hey, hey let me see that"

"Pass me that ting ting"

"Oooh that's a good one"

"I like HORSES"

"I'll be back in FIVE minutes"

According to George the story of his birth is as follows: "It was a hot and sunny day. Mother was in the field with a horse and single bottom plough. She felt a sharp pain and sat on a stump. With one push, out I came! Mother simply stood up and continued ploughing. I jumped up and followed her or I'd have been left behind! ... The rest is history"

The Magas family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Red Deer Hospital Palliative Care Unit and especially the staff at the Red Deer Hospice for the tremendous and tender care George and the entire family received.

At George's request, there will be no funeral. Interment to take place at a later date at the family cemetery in St. Andrews, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers a donation in George's memory can be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave, Red Deer AB, T4R 3S6.
