March 21, 1933 - August 20, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of George McLaren announces the passing of our dear father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. George is predeceased by his son Gary, he will be sadly missed by his wife Lucille, children Murray, Bradley, Dennis and Leslie. Daughter in law Judy McLaren, son in law Mark Shuparski, brother Frank and sister Marj as well as numerous grandchildren and friends.

George obtained his degree in accounting in Edmonton AB. and his profession took him across Canada with his family to Winnipeg, Amherst N.S., Oakville, Calgary and Edmonton. Always one for adventure with his family whether it be gold panning in B.C. to camping and fishing in one of Alberta's many lakes, George truly loved the outdoors. In 1991 George and Lucille moved to Golden B.C. to own and operate a lodge until his retirement in 2006. George and Lucille then moved to West Vancouver. Georges great passion for salmon fishing led him to own property in Sooke B.C. which he enjoyed immensely.

The family would like to thank all the staff and doctors at North Shore Hospice for making his stay as comfortable as possible.

A celebration of life will be held on August 25, 2018 at the residence of George's daughter Leslie in West Vancouver.
