Georgine YANDEAU

YANDEAU Georgine Kathleen Georgine Yandeau, of the Red Deer Nursing Home, passed away on December 28, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Georgine truly enjoyed her pets and the company of her special friend, Jo-Anne Devries, of Red Deer. Georgine was born in Didsbury, AB on May 23, 1921, growing up in Alix, AB, where she raised her family. Georgine spent 40 years working at the Alix Creamery and Central Alberta Dairy Pool in Red Deer. Georgine lived at the Pines Lodge and then at the Red Deer Nursing Home, where she passed away. Travel was a great love of hers, making her way to Europe after retirement. When time allowed, Georgine helped out at the Soup Kitchen, and at the J.O.Y. Club at the Salvation Army for a number of years. Georgine will be lovingly remembered by two sons; George Yandeau of Alix, AB, and Pat Yandeau of Prince George, BC, one brother; Mickey Mortimer of Prince George, BC, and one sister; Janet Stang of Pine Lodge, Red Deer, AB. Also left to cherish memories of Georgine are her five grandchildren; Michelle of Medicine Hat, AB, Sandy of Delburne, AB, Jody, Patty, and Nicole, all of Prince George, BC., nine great grandchildren; Adam and Matthew of Medicine Hat, AB, Matthew, Kelsey, Jordan, Kadin, Riley, James, and Jocelyn, all of Prince George, BC., and one great great granddaughter, Ava Perrault of Prince George, BC. Georgine was predeceased by four siblings; Ray, Lewis, Leonard, and Gord, as well as by her parents, George and Kate Mortimer. Funeral Services for the late Georgine Yandeau will take place at the Salvation Army Church (4837 54 Street, Red Deer) on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Georgine’s memory may do so directly to the Salvation Army (4837 – 54 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 2G5).
