Gerald BOOMER

December 1, 2005

BOOMER Gerald Blaikie Boomer of Red Deer passed away peacefully on November 28, 2005 at the age of 79. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Mary. He leaves behind a proud legacy of hard work and integrity to his five children, Sharon (Lloyd), Lois (Les), Jean (Wayne), Allan (Gloria), Jack (Stephen); nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Gerald is survived by five siblings Vivian, Harry, Allan, Aileen, Darl, their spouses, nieces and nephews. He was a plumber with Hayhoe's, later becoming a partner with Harry and Allan in Boomer Brothers' Construction. Spending time with family and numerous friends, watching hockey games, riding horses, playing "The Blazing Sevens" and spinning yarns with the "Boys" at McDonald's happily filled his retirement years. Many thanks to all who brightened his recent days with visits and especially Dr. Mulder Sr. and the medical staff on Unit 33 who provided stellar care and attention. Family and friends are invited to a viewing at Eventide Funeral Home, Thursday, December 1 from 7:00-9:00 PM and to a celebration of Gerald's life on Friday, December 2 at 11:00 AM at the Balmoral Bible Chapel east on Highway 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice or The Alberta Lung Association (Box 4700, STN South, Edmonton, T6E 5G5).
