August 27, 1931 - November 14, 2020
Gerald Gordon Deyell was born to parents John & Isabel (McLeod) Deyell at Edgerton, Alberta on August 27, 1931. He passed away on Saturday November 14, 2020 at Lacombe, Alberta at the age of 89. Gerald, along with his two older siblings, Lorne and Phyllis, was raised on a farm south of Edgerton, where he attended the Dolcy School.
In 1947 Gerald moved with his parents to a farm west of Lacombe, where he spent the next 72 years. He stayed active up until the last few years, tending to his cattle, horses and land; flying his plane, horseback riding and cross country skiing. He also enjoyed visiting and was a good conversationalist. Gerald became a resident of the Lacombe Royal Oak Manor in 2019, where he has since resided.
He was predeceased by his father, John, in 1981, his mother, Isabel, in 1982, his sister, Phyllis (Floyd) West in 2002 and his brother, Lorne (Lenore) in 2013. He was also predeceased by his twin nephews, Randy and Ross West. He leaves to mourn one nephew, Duane West and twin nieces, Kerry Asoyuf and Kathy Ward all of B.C., many second cousins, and some good neighbors.
