Gerald 'Jase' Allen Laidler of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Long Term Care on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the age of 86 years.

Jase was born in Red Deer and worked for 40 plus years as a Partsman at Northwest Motors. He was united in marriage to Jean Minue in 1957.

A source of immense pride for Jase was building a backyard swimming pool in 1975, which was enjoyed by family and friends.

Jase will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son, Bob (Colleen); and his cherished grandsons: Robert (Sabrina), Chad (Madison), Lorry (Louise), and Lane (Tina); as well as seven great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Donna (Allan) Loewen; special friends: Jim and Rose Howell, and Watson and Bette Stewart; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Jase was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothea; his wife, Jean in 1987; his second wife, Frances; and two brothers, Bill and Jack.

A Gathering of Family and Friends in Jase's Honour will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #35, 2810 Bremner Avenue, Red Deer on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
