MCGINNIS Gerald (Jerry) Keith April 3, 1980 – October 7, 2008 Jerry was a loving father, husband, son, brother and friend to many. It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald Keith McGinnis announces his sudden passing on October 7, 2008. Jerry was born in Fort McMurray, Alberta on April 3, 1980. Jerry spent his early childhood in Hillspring and Pincher Creek, Alberta before moving with his family to Innisfail in 1991. Jerry's heart was always with his family. The greatest joy in his life was being a father to his son’s Ethan and Chad, and a loving husband to his wife Stephanie. It was on June 22, 2002 that Jerry married the love of his life, Stephanie Dawn Walline. A few months later on August 26, 2002, they were blessed with the arrival of their first son, Ethan Gerald Keith McGinnis. Jerry and Stephanie settled in Innisfail, Alberta and on January 4, 2005 they were blessed with the arrival of a second son, Chad Alexander McGinnis. As well as being a family man, Jerry had many interests. He was an avid reader with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Some of his talents included playing guitar and photography. Jerry enjoyed skiing, biking and fishing and took great pleasure in sharing these hobbies with his sons. Many great memories were made on family camping trips. Jerry loved to travel the globe. The Big Island Hawaii encompassed a special place in his heart. Jerry always had the desire to learn, and was constantly updating his education. As well as attaining his High School Diploma, Jerry took great pride in completing his Engineering, specializing in Compact Memory Logging (CML) and furthering his career by becoming a field engineer with Weatherford Canada. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Stephanie and sons Ethan and Chad of Innisfail, AB; Father, Gerald (Glenda) McGinnis of Cochrane, AB; Mother, Cheryl (Frank) Cyman of Captain Cook, Hawaii; Grandparents, Ron and Thelma Morgan of Courtenay, BC; Sister, Heather McGinnis (Brenna and Tayah) of Innisfail, AB; Step Brother, Destin (Amy) Heintz of Innisfail, AB; Step Brother, Sean Heintz of Cochrane, AB; Step Brother, Aaron (Jen) Cyman of Springbrook, AB; Step Sister, April (Kris) Schindel of Red Deer, AB; Step Brother; David (Nadia) Cyman of Red Deer, AB; Mother and Father-in-law, Leanne and Keith Walline of Innisfail, AB; three brothers-in-law, Brad (April) Walline, Adam Walline, Tyler Walline and Sister-in-law, Lesley (Mark) Walline, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family and many, many co-workers and friends. Jerry was pre-deceased by his loving Grandmother, Edith McGinnis, Great Grandmother Myrtle Morgan, Great Grandfather Bill Morgan, Great Grandmother Esther Enden and his cousin Ben Lindsay. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at the Innisfail United Church on Thursday October 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Innisfail Cemetery.
