Mrs. Gerda Hansine Petersen of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Valley Park Manor Nursing Home, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Gerda was born on May 13, 1917 at Kong, Fyn, Denmark. Gerda is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bill) Hope of Airdrie, Alberta and three grandchildren, Danielle Hope of Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Gillian Hope of Airdrie, Alberta, Eric Hope of Airdrie, Alberta and a great granddaughter, Anna. Gerda was predeceased by her husband, Peter Petersen. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family for a time of remembrance and refreshments at EVENTIDE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, December 21, 2009 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
