Gerda Huber 1914 - 2009 Mrs. Gerda Olea (Nee Stemo) Huber was born on April 15, 1914 at Tristram, Alberta and passed away in her sleep on May 28, 2009 in Bashaw, Alberta at the age of 95 years. She was the seventh of eight children born to Ole and Gjertrude Stemo (and she was the last matriarch) who lived in the Calumet District. She will be missed by her loving husband of 75 years, Henry, and her son Ron. She also leaves to mourn her passing her granddaughter Shelly (Klaus) Nitschke, great-grandsons Austin and Justin; several nephews, nieces, as well as great and great-great nephews and nieces. Gerda was predeceased by her parents Gjertrude and Ole Stemo; her brothers, sisters and in-laws, Elmer, Einar (Lilly Johnsrud), Peter, Jacob (Alma Schultz), Alma Stemo, (Sverre Angermo), Marget (Tom Davies), Delia (Dave Aitken), and nephew Raymond Angermo. Respecting Gerda's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Calumet Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
