HULSMAN Gerritje (Gerry) 1931 - 2009 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in his word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5 After a courageous battle with cancer, Gerry Hulsman (Heideman), peacefully passed away with her loved ones at her side on March 29, 2009. She was born on September 2, 1931 in Diepenheim, the Netherlands, and was the youngest in a family of 10 children. Gerry married Jan Willem (Bill) Hulsman on March 23, 1954. They immigrated to Canada on April 15, 1954. After spending 9 years in the Edmonton area they moved their family to their farm west of Ponoka in 1963. In 1995 Gerry and Bill retired and moved into the town of Ponoka. She is survived by her husband Bill of 55 years, her children and grandchildren. Joanne (Ed) Brent and Kendra, Gaylord (Caroline) Devon (Kristen), Garrett and Craig, Dennis (Brenda) Tyler, Shannon and Kevin, Ron and Jessica, John (Shanna) Jocelyn, Adam, Kurtis and Victoria. She is also survived by a brother Arend and sister Grada in the Netherlands, and sister Hannie in Edmonton. She is predeceased by numerous family and close friends. Gerry will be deeply missed by those near to her and fondly remembered for her caring and compassion for others. Funeral services will be held at the Sunrise Christian Reformed Church, Ponoka, 1/2 kms. south of the Centennial Center (Alberta Hospitail) on Friday, April 3rd at 2:00 pm.
