It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gertie Flessatti on May 1, 2021 at the age of 82.
Gertie was born in Innisfail to Bert and Hazel Lockhart. She attended school in Bowden and graduated from Lindsay Thurber. She went on to college and graduated from Henderson Secretarial School.
She met the love of her life, John Flessatti, and was married in November 1957. They farmed east of Bowden and raised their family there. They retired from farming and spent 35+ years in Yuma, Arizona and travelling the country in their RV.
Gertie is survived by her children, Donald (Leslie), Hazel (Donny), Yvonne (Trevor) and Annette (Darcy). Her grandchildren, which were the light of her life, Kaelee (Jackson), Lauren (Craig), Pam, Derek, Janna, Tyler, Lindsay (Bryan) and Alyssa (Kevin). Extra special to her were her great-grandchildren Brylan, Zenlee, Tianna, Ivy and Hendrix.
She is also survived by her sisters Verna, Donna (Mike), her brother Harold (Jeanne) and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John, her son-in-law Jim and her brother Robert.
