GILLARD, November 15, 1923 - April 30, 2005 Mr. Harvey Walter Gillard passed away at the Lacombe Hospital And Care Centre on Saturday April 30, 2005 at the age of 81 years. Walter is survived by his wife of 57 years Amy, one daughter Diana (Ray) Kozak of Vilna, AB, two sons Tim (Cheryl) Gillard of Tees, AB; Ken (Anita) Gillard of Clive, AB; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, two sisters Gladys (Art) Nelson of Stavely, AB, Barbara (Dell) Harrison of Red Deer, AB and numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was born in Carnforth, Alberta and moved to Lacombe in 1946. He owned and operated "GILLARD CONSTRUCTION" from 1959-1995. He was an avid horseman-team roping until 2004, an honored lifetime member of the Lacombe Light Horse Association and the Parkland Harness Club. For the past 10 years he was facilities Manager for the Agricultural Society. By many people young and old he was affectionately known as "Grandad".
