Gladys CLINE

June 25, 2009

CLINE Gladys Mae Gladys Mae Cline (Munro) passed away peacefully at the Innisfail Rosefield Centre on June 21, 2009 at the age of 81. Gladys had a full life. She was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta and, although moved to Edmonton for a few years, she always felt there was no better place to live than Red Deer. She was very proud to be a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi where she held the position of president several times. She was also a member of the Highway W.I. Gladys worked as the office clerk at Corbetts in Red Deer for 20 years. She liked doing her needlepoint work and created many pictures for her family. She also enjoyed being a member of the bell choir at the Presbyterian Church. Gladys and Harvey enjoyed many years of going to their trailer at Caroline where they helped Gerry and Art Cliff on their farm and took many day trips driving around the back roads and visiting friends. She also got to travel to many parts of the world. One of the most memorable for her was going to Thailand with her Aunt Phyl. Gladys loved visiting with her daughter, Brenda, in Nova Scotia. When her health required her to have someone take care of her, she went to live with Barry, Colleen, Daniel and Matthew on the farm where she enjoyed telling stories of her life, reminiscing of time spent with each of her grandchildren, who she was very proud of, helping with the garden, sitting on the swing with her special puppy, Hosea, visiting with Kay Cummins (Colleen's mom) and making trips back to Red Deer to visit with her lifelong friends. When she visited with Brian and Mary Ann in Lethbridge, she enjoyed the day trips to Montana and going over the Logan Pass. Gladys resided in the Innisfail Rosefield centre the last eight months where she was well thought of and had excellent care. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Vern Cline, her brother, Stanley Munro, and her sister-in-law, Margaret Cline. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Cline of Nova Scotia; sons, Brian (Mary Ann) of Lethbridge; and Barry (Colleen) of Innisfail, seven grandchildren, Melissa (Curtis) Hubert; Angie (Jeff) MacFarlane; Andrew (Melissa van der Leek) Cline; Annie (Christopher) McGregror; Patrick Cline; Daniel Cline and Matthew Cline, and eight great-grandchildren: Sam, Josh and Zach Hubert and Abi, Claire, and Emilie, Patrick, Andre, MacFarlane.
