Our family is sad to announce the peaceful passing of our mom, Gladys Tweed.
She is survived by daughter Jossette Kernaghan, son Dave (Joy), Kernaghan: grandchildren, David (Meaghan), Duane (Hilary): daughter: Brenda (Ken) Gallelli; daughter: Joanne (Mike) McFarland; grandchildren: Garrett, Alysia and Logan; daughter: Georgina Tweed (Dave); grandchildren: Michelle (Nathan) and Nicole; daughter: Gloria Tweed (David); grandchildren: Christian (Tram) Lisa (Julian), Emily (Matt); daughter: Robin Tweed (George); grandchild: Collis, and great grandchildren and granddogs.
Gladys is also survived by her brother: Bill (Maureen) Stevenett and nephews Craig (Linda) and Todd (Laurie Ann). She was pre-deceased by mother and father, Hazel and Frank Stevenett and aunts and uncles and cousins. Mom grew up in the Antler Hill District near Innisfail and attended Lindsay Thurber High School in Red Deer. Her family moved frequently to various locations within the province of Alberta, making lasting friends wherever she went. Mom had a zest for life, wit, style and a kind spirit, always a happy smile no matter what faced her. She was an amazing mom and being. Music was her passion, an accomplished violinist. She played and entertained in various lodges across the province with the Music Makers, up till two years ago. Through her life she played with various orchestra's and symphonies. Her violin went everywhere with her! She loved to travel especially by motorcycle across North America. Mom last resided at the Cedarwood Station, Airdrie, where she was known as the happiest social butterfly and loved by all.
