Glen Albert Petrie, beloved husband of Tara, passed away suddenly on January 28, 2014 at the age of 51. Glen Petrie is survived by his loving wife Tara, and his 2 most prized possessions, his beloved boys, Tyler and Jake. Glen was predeceased by his parents Hilda and Karl Petrie. Glen is also survived by his sister Doreen (Sandy) Cummings of Cochrane, sister Elsie Ferguson (Ed) of Calgary, brother John Petrie (Kathy) of Brooks, brother Robert Petrie (Laurie) of Red Deer, sister Barb Petrie (Rick Muriel) of Red Deer, brother in-law Jeff Paarup (Marina) of Drumheller, brother in-law Jamey Paarup (Tracey) of Red Deer, mother- in-law Sonja Nielsen (Don Krill) of Cochrane, sister in-law Andrea Krill (Tyler MacLean) of Airdrie, brother in-law Ross Krill (Tonya) of Calgary and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Glen was born in Drumheller, Alberta and spent most of his life there before moving to Airdrie, Alberta in 2011. Glen spent over 30 years working in the oil and gas sector. He loved being involved in sports and the camaraderie that came with it. Glen was also a large part of the hockey communities his boys played in and built many close friendships while watching his boys play. Glenny's greatest talent beyond sports was his incredible sense of humor and the ability to make conversation with anyone young or old. No occasion was the same without his presence and he will be dearly missed by all. Funeral services for Glen Petrie will be held Friday, February 7th, 1:00 pm at the Badlands Community Facility. #80 Veterans Way, Drumheller, Alberta. In memory of Glen, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Children's Hospital, Calgary Alberta.
