BIGAM Glen Edward Jan. 24, 1939 - July 30, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Glen Bigam announces his passing at the age of 70. Glen will be missed terribly by his loving wife Carol; daughter Kathie (Phil) Brooks, sons Trevor (Tammy) Bigam and Colin (Nancy) Bigam; grandchildren Callie, Lauren, and Cam Penner, and Joshua Bigam; his mother Ivy Bigam; and brothers Leroy (Joanne) Bigam and Jerry (Lynne) Bigam. Also left to cherish his memory are many dear family members and friends. Glen was predeceased by his father Gordon in 1998. Glen was always an intellectual, winning several awards for academic achievement, including the Governor General's medal in high school. His lifelong sense of curiosity led him to a 50 year career at the University of Alberta, where he was instrumental in decades of research. A celebration of Glen's life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 1:00 pm, at the McKernan Baptist Church; 11103 - 76 Ave. Internment will follow for the family at South Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted to establish a scholarship in Glen's name at the University of Alberta.
