MATHESON Glen Matheson of Red Deer passed away suddenly on Monday May 14, 2007 at the age of 77. Glen will be lovingly remembered by his wife Betty of 58 years, his two sons, Bill (Sandra) of Red Deer, and Pat of Bentley, and his daughter, Jill (Clint) Stewart of Calgary. Glen will also be missed by his grandchildren Jason, Andrew (Brandy), Krista (Dwaine), Ryan (Darci) and Scott. Glen leaves behind his brother, Jim of Red Deer, numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Awaiting Glen are his many loving family and friends gone before him. Glen worked an enjoyable 54 years at Bettenson's Cartage/Sand and Gravel. He was a member for 50 years in the Central Alberta Lions Club. He was actively involved in their charitable activities including Easter Seals, CNIB, speed skating plus many others. Glen was honoured to receive numerous awards of recognition including the annual "Glen Matheson" award for volunteerism. Glen loved life and everyone in it and excelled at living life to the fullest. A celebration of Glen's life will be held at Festival Hall, 4214 - 58 St. Red Deer on Thursday May 24, 2007 between 2 to 5 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the Easter Seals c/o 10025-106 St. Edmonton AB, T5J 1G4, the CNIB, 15 Colonel Baker Place N.E Calgary AB, T2E 4Z3 or to donor's choice.
