November 27, 2022

May 28, 1947 - November 27, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Gordon "Gord" Holdcroft on the evening of November 27th, 2022 at the Red Deer Hospice. Gord was 75 years old. Cremation has taken place.
Gord was born in Nottingham, England on May 28th, 1947 to John and Margaret "Maggie" Holdcroft. Gord and his family immigrated to Canada and settled in the Hamilton, Ontario area when he was a child. His eventual move to Alberta brought him employment in the industrial construction industry where he spent many years as a scaffolder at various petrochemical sites. In his later years, Gord worked as a taxicab driver for Associated Cabs in Red Deer, Alberta.
Gord was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and liked to travel around visiting various places. One of Gord's greatest achievements was completing a frame-off restoration of his 1983 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe which he cherished. As Gord's health declined, he required more continuing care until he was admitted to the Red Deer Hospice on November 23rd, 2022 where he stayed until his passing.
Gord will be remembered for his humour and calm demeanour. Gord was predeceased by his parents John and Maggie Holdcroft and his brothers Ian, Bill, Ronald "Ronnie" and Dan as well as a sister Fran. Left to mourn his passing are his sister-in-law Barb Holdcroft of Branford, Ontario, three special friends Andrea Schick, Gordon Lutz and Sandy Dempsey and several other friends from Red Deer, Alberta.
A special thanks go out to the nurses with Alberta Health Services and the nurses/healthcare aids of the Red Deer Hospice for their care and compassion for Gord during his final days.
Anyone wishing to make donations in memory of Gord may do so to the Red Deer Hospice Society at 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4R-3S6.
Rest in peace Gord. You were greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
