KENNEDY Gordon Eddler Kennedy was born May 13, 1920 in Cabri, Saskatchewan and went to sleep in Jesus May 15, 2009. Gordon was married to Mamie Matson in 1947 and to that union were born 2 daughters; Dawn and Colleen. Gordon was predeceased by his daughter Colleen in 1971 and his wife Mamie in 1996. In 1998, Gordon married Helen Kivinen. After moving to Alberta he worked in the printing industry operating a linotype for the Lacombe Globe, a printing press in Fort Saskatchewan, as well as for Parkland ColorPress at Canadian University College. Following his retirement from the printing industry he and Verne Gustavensen operated a market garden. To find a market for the garden produce, Gordon started Farmer's Market in the town of Lacombe. Gordon had a passion for sharing the love of Jesus and from time to time accepted calls to take speaking engagement in churches in the vicinity. He also was instrumental in starting Seventh-day Adventists churches in Ponoka and Mirror. He leaves in loving memory his wife Helen, daughter Dawn (Bob) Clark, grandsons Rob and Rick, a brother Roy, a close nephew Herb (Geri) Kennedy (who lived with him and Mamie for a number of years) as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends. A service "Celebrating Gordon's Life" will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 2:30 PM in the Lacombe Seventh-day Adventist Community Church, 5804- 45 Ave., Lacombe, AB.
