Gordon MURDOCH

MURDOCH, Gordon Gordon Douglas (Doug), beloved husband of Peggy Murdoch of Sylvan Lake, AB, passed away at the Valley Park Manor on January 9, 2005, at the age of 86 years. Besides his loving wife, Doug will be dearly missed by: his children; Gail (Butch) Hergenhein, and Ted (Lisa) Murdoch, grandchildren; Susan (Sid), David (Deb), Sandra (Roger), Bobbi (Greg), Angela, Sean, Tina, Lindsay, and 7 great grandchildren. Doug will be lovingly remembered by: his sister-in-law Peggy (Long Beach) Murdoch, and daughter-in-law Carol York as well as numerous other family and friends. Doug was predeceased by: son Gordie and his brothers and sisters. He was a lifetime member of the Bricklayers Union, past president of Alberta Federation of Labour, business agent for the Transport Workers Union of Canada and business agent for the Labourers Union. He was active in politics and an avid curler and golfer. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and thanks to the staff at Valley Park Manor, Red Deer, AB for the care and attention given to Doug. A Memorial Service will be held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church (5020-48th Street, Sylvan Lake, AB) on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Calgary. AB on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. If so desired, a memorial donation may be made directly in Doug's name to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation (1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6).
