He loved the outdoors and was passionate about fishing and hunting. He also spent many hours at the gym and working on his car. He was a father figure and mentor to many.
Guy was born in Salmon Arm and grew up in the Okanagan. As a young man he moved to Edmonton and started his career in ironwork. He joined the Calgary Police Service in 1988.
In 2001 he returned to ironwork, starting his own business Colt Reinforcing, then CVW Industries in 2005. Guy’s dedication and hard work contributed to many structures in central Alberta and more.
Guy is lovingly remembered by his wife Roberta, son Colten (Amanda), stepdaughters Kaylee (Dan), Brenna (Jordan), and granddaughters Adella and Juliet; his mother Trudy, sisters Charmaine and Mona (Kevin), brothers Shane (Gloria), Shawn (Bonnie); as well as his aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joseph in 2008.
A celebration of life will be held at Home Church on July 5, 2021 at 1 pm. Memorial donations can be made in Guy’s name to the Red Deer Hospice or Destiny Christian School.
