It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lou Ahrens after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer. Lou is survived by his loving wife Valerie, daughter Brenda (Valentine), grandchildren Jon (Laurie), Jay (Tricia), great grandchildren Oliver and Nathan and his sister Frieda (Norris) and many nieces and nephews. Lou was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta. He was an active participant in 4H and the Optimist Club. His occupation for over 25 years was with National Cash Register. He loved driving. Whether it was the school bus, a taxi cab or on a trip across the nation, Lou was happiest behind the wheel. The family would like to thank the palliative care nurses and all caregivers throughout the course of his illness. Service and reception will be held at 2 pm on Wed. March 21, 2012 at
