CROSBY, Harold Edwin CROSBY

July 20, 1925 - Jan. 19, 2005

Harold Edwin Crosby passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer. Harold was a true-blue Calgarian who was born in Calgary and was very proud to be a member of the Native Calgarians Society. During his youth he worked as a Caddy at the Calgary Golf and Country Club, and from there he went to work for the CPR for forty-five years until his retirement in 1986. Harold was also active in the Army Reserves from 1943 to 1965. Harold was predeceased by his brother Ted and sisters, Bobbi (Florence) and Ivy and by a daughter Vicky Doreen in 1954. Harold has been fortunate to live a long and healthy life surrounded by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Doreen and their children, Linda Thudium (Rolf, Calvin, Tonia, Mandy); Todd (Pam, Erin, Adam); Grant (Sandy); Wayne (Rose, Marissa). In addition, he is survived by four great grandchildren, Brady, Dylan, Chase and Hunter. He is also loved and will be missed by many life long friends including his sister-in-law Bernice Elmgren and her family as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Harold loved life and being active; he was involved in bowling, camping with his friends in the Friendly One's RV Club, golf (in his earlier years), hockey through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing gave him greater pleasure than to attend and watch his offspring, as they were involved in many activities. A Memorial Celebration of Harold's Life will be held at Northmount Baptist Church, 451 Northmount Drive NW, next Sunday, January 30 at 3:00 p.m. Friends, who desire may, in lieu of flowers, donate to the charity of their choice or the Rosedale Hospice.
