HARRIS Mrs. Marjorie Harris of Stettler passed away peacefully at the Stettler Hospital & Care Centre on Monday August 15, 2005 only four days short of her 89th birthday. Mrs. Harris was born in Ardley, Alberta. Marjorie received her education at the Great Bend School near Delburne, Alberta completing Grade 12. She then attended ABC Bible College in Lethbridge, Alberta. Marjorie dedicated her life to Christ and was very active in the church. From 1945-1951 she was blessed to become a Missionary in Bogota, Columbia and also in Cuba. She served this calling well and enjoyed her time on these missions. After she returned to Canada she married Lloyd Elmer Harris at the Great Bend Church in 1953. She then took on the role of mother and homemaker with great enthusiasm and love. She was instantly the mother of Lloyd¹s four children and was then blessed with two more. She loved her family, music and her church and taught Sunday school for numerous years while also singing Alto in many Choirs. Marjorie is at peace but leaves to mourn, her loving husband of 52 years, Lloyd Harris of Stettler, six children, Marion (Tom) Hilton of Sundre, Claudia (Ray) Haenni of Calgary, Brenda Heather (Bob) Venus of Westerose, Bonnie Harris (Dave Roux) of Big Valley, Rene (Bronco) Svetina of Calgary, and Son Marvyn (Della) Harris of Botha. Also one sister Alma Bull of Oyen and one brother Ernie (Mildred) McGowan of Delburne, as well as numerous Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, other relatives and many wonderful friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Albert and Gertrude McGowan , Sisters, Vi Ferguson and Dorothy Oke as well as one grandchild Danielle Conroy. Funeral Services will be held for the late Mrs. Marjorie Harris on Monday August 22, 2005 at the Great Bend Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to The Missionary Fund of Great Bend Church of Christ in care of Brennen Funeral Home (2001) Ltd.
