Harry BROOKS

BROOKS Harry Brooks of Leslieville went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 27, 2009 at the age of 88 years. He was born on May 2, 1921 at Evarts, Alberta and was raised in the Diamond Valley area. On November 11, 1945 he married his sweetheart, Ada Wingate. They moved to Leslieville in 1950 where they raised their family of seven children. Harry is lovingly remembered by his six daughters and sons-in-law: Esther & Dave Thomas, Leanne & Lyell Smith, Elaine & Warren Bamber, Carol & Roger Laing, Judy & Rod English, and Colleen & Terry McCaffrey, daughter-in-law, Juliann Brooks, twenty-two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother Allan & Cora Anderson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ada, in 1998, son Charlie, in 1982, two brothers, Alford Brooks and Arvid Anderson, and sisters, Myrtle Bott and Astrid Anderson. A celebration of Harry's life will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Leslieville. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so Thursday, June 4, between 7:00 and 9:00 PM at the Rocky Funeral Home, Rocky Mountain House.
